Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally in half, keeping the rolls attached. Set the top half aside.

Place the bottom halves of the rolls in a 9x13-inch glass baking dish.

Spread mayonnaise evenly over the exposed surface of the bottom rolls.

Add a generous layer of overlapping cheddar cheese slices over the mayonnaise.

Pile sliced roast beef evenly over the cheese layer.

Cover the roast beef with another generous layer of cheddar cheese slices.

Place the top halves of the rolls over the assembled layers.

In a small bowl, whisk melted butter, Dijon mustard, barbecue sauce, and poppy seeds together until combined.

Drizzle and brush the butter mixture evenly over the top of the rolls.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove the foil and continue baking for approximately 5 minutes until the tops are toasted and golden brown.
