01 - 12 cooked breakfast sausage links

→ Batter

02 - 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
03 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
04 - 4 teaspoons baking powder
05 - ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
06 - 1 ⅓ cups buttermilk
07 - 1 large egg, well beaten
08 - 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
09 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - Cook the sausage according to the package instructions and set aside.
02 - In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly mixed.
03 - In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, beaten egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
04 - Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir just until combined. Allow the batter to rest for 5 minutes.
05 - Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly coat with cooking spray. Pour 3 tablespoons of batter into the skillet, spreading gently. Cook for 2-3 minutes until bubbles form on the surface and the bottom is golden brown. Flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
