Melt the butter in a large pot over medium-low heat. Stir in marshmallows and continue stirring until almost fully melted.

Add pumpkin purée, pumpkin pie spice, salt, and optional orange food coloring. Stir until smooth and fully melted. Remove from heat.

Quickly fold in Rice Krispies cereal until every piece is coated evenly.

Lightly grease a donut pan with nonstick spray or butter. Press the warm mixture firmly into each mold and allow to cool completely before removing.

Whisk powdered sugar, milk, cinnamon, and salt together until smooth. Adjust consistency with additional milk if needed.

Dip the top of each donut into the glaze or spoon it over. Let sit for at least 15 minutes to allow the glaze to set before serving.
