Pizza Grilled Cheese Sandwich (Printable Version)

Golden bread and melty mozzarella meet zesty pepperoni and garlic butter, finished with a side of warm pizza sauce.

# What You'll Need:

→ Garlic Butter Spread

01 - 115 grams unsalted butter, very soft
02 - 12 grams grated parmesan cheese
03 - 3 grams garlic powder
04 - 1 gram dried Italian seasoning

→ Assembly

05 - 8 slices white bread
06 - 12 slices mozzarella cheese
07 - 170 grams pepperoni slices
08 - Warm pizza sauce, for serving

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, grated parmesan, garlic powder, and dried Italian seasoning. Mix thoroughly until smooth and homogeneous.
02 - Evenly spread the garlic butter mixture over one side of each bread slice. Place the slices, buttered side up, on a tray while you prepare the fillings.
03 - For each sandwich, place one bread slice buttered side down in a skillet over medium-low heat. Layer one slice of mozzarella, six pepperoni slices, another slice of mozzarella, six more pepperoni slices, and a third slice of mozzarella on top. Finish with a second bread slice, buttered side up.
04 - Cover the skillet with a lid and cook until the bottom is golden brown, approximately 3–5 minutes. Gently flip the sandwich and cover again, cooking until the opposite side is golden and the cheese fully melts.
05 - Repeat grilling with remaining sandwiches. Serve hot with warm pizza sauce for dipping.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Cook sandwiches in batches to prevent overcrowding; to keep them crispy, place finished sandwiches on a wire rack over a tray so steam does not accumulate and cause sogginess.
02 - Sandwiches can be customized with cheese or bread of your choice; provolone or parmesan work well in place of mozzarella.
03 - Sandwiches may be assembled ahead and frozen if desired.
