Lobster Grilled Cheese Sandwich (Printable Version)

A buttery toasted sandwich combining tender lobster, Gruyère, cheddar, and cream cheese with fresh chives.

# What You'll Need:

→ Seafood

01 - 6 oz cooked lobster meat, chopped (claw, tail, or knuckle)

→ Cheese

02 - 2 oz Gruyère cheese, shredded
03 - 2 oz sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
04 - 2 tbsp cream cheese, softened

→ Bread & Spreads

05 - 4 slices sourdough bread or brioche
06 - 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
07 - 1 tbsp mayonnaise

→ Seasonings

08 - 1 tsp fresh chives, finely chopped (optional)
09 - 1/2 tsp lemon zest (optional)
10 - Pinch of salt and pepper

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - In a small bowl, gently combine the chopped lobster, cream cheese, mayonnaise, chives, lemon zest, salt, and pepper until evenly blended.
02 - Place bread slices on a clean surface and spread unsalted butter evenly on one side of each slice.
03 - Distribute half of the Gruyère and sharp cheddar evenly on the unbuttered sides of two bread slices.
04 - Spoon the lobster filling evenly over the cheese layers, then sprinkle the remaining shredded cheeses on top.
05 - Cover each with the remaining bread slices, buttered side facing outward.
06 - Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat. Cook sandwiches 3 to 4 minutes per side, pressing lightly, until the bread is golden and cheese is melted.
07 - Remove from heat, let rest for 1 minute, slice, and serve immediately while warm.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Resting the sandwich briefly after cooking helps cheeses set and prevents filling from spilling out when sliced.
