Slice smoked sausage into 1/2-inch thick pieces. Place a large skillet over medium heat and brown the sausage pieces evenly, turning as needed.

Add water, instant rice, frozen peas, ground black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, dried minced onions, sea salt, and Dijon mustard to the pan. Stir well to incorporate all ingredients. Increase the heat to medium-high and bring the mixture to a gentle boil.

Reduce heat to low. Cover the skillet and allow the mixture to simmer gently. Stir occasionally until the rice is cooked through and most of the liquid has been absorbed.
