Halloween Popcorn Candy Eyes (Printable Version)

Crispy sweet popcorn balls with candy eyes are a playful, festive treat for Halloween fun.

# What You'll Need:

→ Popcorn Base

01 - 16 cups popped popcorn

→ Marshmallow Mixture

02 - 10 ounces mini marshmallows
03 - 1/4 cup unsalted butter

→ Candy Coating and Decoration

04 - 1 bag Wilton bright white candy melts
05 - Candy eyeballs

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - Place the popped popcorn into a large mixing bowl. If necessary, divide among two bowls for easier handling.
02 - Combine mini marshmallows and butter in a large pot over medium heat. Stir occasionally until the mixture is smooth and fully melted without lumps.
03 - Pour the melted marshmallow mixture evenly over the popcorn. Use a spatula to gently stir and thoroughly coat each piece.
04 - Lightly butter your hands to prevent sticking. Shape the coated popcorn into round or tall balls as preferred.
05 - Place the shaped popcorn balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment or a silicone mat. Allow them to cool and firm up at room temperature for 30 to 60 minutes.
06 - Melt candy melts according to package directions. For a thinner consistency, add a small amount of vegetable shortening or oil if needed.
07 - Dip the tops of each popcorn ball into the melted candy coating. Let them rest until slightly set yet tacky, then press candy eyeballs onto the tops before the coating fully hardens.
08 - Allow the candy coating to set completely before serving. Store finished popcorn balls in an airtight container if preparing ahead.

# Additional Notes:

01 - For best results, use fresh popcorn to prevent the balls from becoming stale.
02 - Adding oil or shortening to the melted candy can help achieve a smoother dip.
