Remove saucepan from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt until evenly combined.

Add powdered sugar one cup at a time, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens, becomes glossy, and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

Transfer mixture into an 8×8-inch pan lined with parchment. Press evenly with a greased spatula or cup to create a flat surface.

Refrigerate for one hour or until the fudge is set and firm to the touch.
