02 - 1/4 cup granulated sugar
03 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

→ Brownie Batter

04 - 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
05 - 1 teaspoon baking powder
06 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
07 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
08 - 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
09 - 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
10 - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
11 - 1/2 teaspoon maple extract
12 - 2 large eggs, room temperature

→ Maple Glaze

13 - 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
14 - 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
15 - 1/2 teaspoon maple extract
16 - 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
17 - 1/8 teaspoon salt
18 - 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted

# Step-by-Step Guide:

01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x13-inch baking pan with nonstick spray and line with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy removal.
02 - Combine diced apples, granulated sugar, and cinnamon in a medium skillet over medium heat. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently until apples soften but retain shape and sugars caramelize. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
03 - In a small bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
04 - In a large bowl, mix light brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and maple extract using an electric mixer on medium-low speed until smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
05 - Add eggs to the wet mixture and beat for 30 seconds to 1 minute until fully blended and fluffy.
06 - Gently fold the flour mixture into the wet ingredients using a rubber spatula until just combined and no dry flour remains.
07 - Using a slotted spoon, remove the cooked apples from liquid and fold them evenly into the batter with a large rubber spatula.
08 - Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until the surface is lightly golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with few moist crumbs.
09 - Remove baked apple brownies from oven and allow to cool completely on the countertop.
10 - In a 3-quart saucepan over medium heat, combine melted butter, maple syrup, maple extract, cinnamon, and salt. Heat while whisking constantly for 2-3 minutes until melted and just beginning to bubble at edges. Remove from heat.
11 - Whisk sifted powdered sugar into the saucepan until glaze is smooth and fully combined.
12 - Pour the maple glaze evenly over the cooled apple brownies and spread to cover the surface uniformly.

# Additional Notes:

01 - Ensure excess liquid from cooked apples is not added to batter to maintain proper brownie texture.
